Electronic Music Lover

WELCOME, my dudes and dudas!

This is André Fernandes. That's a portuguese name right there. And so it happens that I am from Portugal, a very beautiful and very shy country, nested in the heart of the atlantic. A country filled with a long history (over 1000 years of history, man. that's no small feat), amazing poetry and very unique art over all. If you need proof of our talent for the arts, just go to Lisbon and you'll see how unique (and picturesque at times, in that uniqueness) our culture is.

2014. Before electronic music, I used to play a lot of guitar. I don't play much these days.

But anyway, I'll go over how great and peaceful it is to live in Portugal (and Lisbon) in other future posts =) I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know what this space is for.

So I'm a Video Game Development graduate student. I've been making games since 2008, when I was 14. I used RPG Maker until fairly recent, when in 2014 I switched to Unity, and learned how to code and make 3d art. This days, I do everything by myself. I'm both a programmer and a 3D modeller, and you can check out my games here.

And check my college projects right here, in this showreel, featuring Aphex Twin's brutally beautiful "Xtal":

My love for electronic music is fairly recent. I only started to listen to the genre in April of 2016, when I found the "Richard D. James Album" on Youtube and listened to it all. It blew my mind completely. A few months later, in August of the same year, I downloaded Renoise 2.8.0 and I have been making music in it every day since then.

Renoise 3 | Best thing since sliced bread.

So I set up this space for my musical works, but also to talk a bit about electronic music in general and my favorite artists, and also to post about new artists and music I came across on the interwebz.

I'm also taking this space to set up my "A Track A Day" challenge, where I will post an original track of mine every day (or as close to that mark as humanly possible), starting  28th of September 2017 , hopefully running until  28th September 2018 . It's quite a commitment, but I'll try to stick to it.

I'll be posting all things about electronic music, starting now! Be sure to check on this space regularly.

If you have a track you'd like to send me, hit me up at: polygoncitymusic@gmail.com | Same if you want the Renoise files for any of my tracks (you'll need Renoise 3.1 to open the mid files).

Thank you for your attention! See you in a bit!
